Are You Ready? Day 0 Challenge Instructions to Kickstart Your Success Journey

30dayaichallenge

Let’s kick off Day 0 of our AI challenge! The goal is to create a website to log your progress, and we’ll use either Wix or WordPress with AI features to make it happen. Both are solid picks—Wix is quick and beginner-friendly with built-in AI tools, while WordPress offers more control and flexibility, especially with AI plugins. I’ll walk you through both options, and you can decide which vibe suits you best. Let’s get moving!

Option 1: Wix with AI Features

Wix is perfect if you want something up and running fast with minimal fuss. Its AI Website Builder can generate a site based on a few questions, and you can tweak it to track your challenge progress.

Step 1: Set Up Wix

  • Head to wix.com and hit “Get Started” (it’s free to start).

  • Sign up with an email or log in if you’ve got an account.

  • When it asks how you want to create your site, pick “Create with AI” to launch the AI Website Builder.

Step 2: Use the AI to Build Your Site

  • The AI will pop up a chat. Tell it: “I want a website to log my progress for an AI challenge. It should have a homepage, an about page, and a blog section for daily updates.”

  • Answer its follow-ups—like your site name (e.g., “AIChallengeLog”) and vibe (clean, modern, whatever you’re feeling).

  • In a minute or two, it’ll spit out a custom site with text, layout, and placeholder images. If it’s off, say “regenerate” or tweak specifics like “add a progress tracker section.”

Step 3: Customize for Progress Tracking

  • Once you’ve got the base site, use the Wix Editor (drag-and-drop, super intuitive).

  • Add a blog page (it’s in the menu options)—this is where you’ll post daily updates. Title each post like “Day 1: [What I Did]” for clarity.

  • Throw in a table or text box on the homepage for a quick progress summary—e.g., “Days Completed: 0/30” (update it manually or use a Wix app like “Simple Progress Bar” from the App Market).

  • AI bonus: Use the “AI Text Creator” in the Editor to generate post intros or section descriptions if you’re stuck.

Step 4: Publish

  • Hit “Publish” in the top right. Grab a free Wix subdomain (like yourname.wixsite.com/aichallenge) or connect a custom domain later if you upgrade.

  • Takes maybe 30 minutes total, and you’re live.

Option 2: WordPress with AI Features

WordPress gives you more depth and customization, but it’s a bit more hands-on. Pair it with AI plugins, and it’s a powerhouse for tracking your challenge.

Step 1: Set Up WordPress

  • Go to wordpress.com and click “Start your website” (free plan works to begin).

  • Sign up, pick a simple theme (like “Twenty Twenty-Four”), and get a free subdomain (e.g., aichallenge.wordpress.com).

  • Or, if you want full control, grab hosting (like Bluehost, ~$3/month) and install WordPress.org—takes an extra 10 minutes but unlocks more AI plugins.

Step 2: Add AI Plugins

  • From the dashboard, go to “Plugins” > “Add New.”

  • Install “AI Engine” (free tier available) for content generation or “10Web AI Builder” (free trial) to design pages fast.

  • Activate them, then configure—e.g., AI Engine asks for an OpenAI API key (optional, but boosts power; grab one from openai.com if you’re game).

Step 3: Build Your Progress Site

  • Create pages: “Home,” “About,” and “Blog” (under “Pages” > “Add New”).

  • For the homepage, use the block editor (Gutenberg) and add a text block: “AI Challenge Progress: Day 0/30.” Update it daily or weekly.

  • Set up the blog (posts section) for daily logs—write quick entries like “Day 1: Built the site, feeling pumped.”

  • AI boost: In AI Engine, type “Write a short intro for my AI challenge progress site” and paste the result into your About page. Tweak as needed.

Step 4: Polish and Launch

  • Pick a free theme from “Appearance” > “Themes” (like Neve or Astra—light and clean).

  • If you’re on WordPress.org with 10Web, use its AI to generate layouts—tell it “simple progress tracker site” and edit the output.

  • Hit “Publish” on each page/post. You’re live in about an hour, maybe less if you skip hosting setup.

Which One?

  • Wix if you want speed, simplicity, and AI doing most of the lifting. Great for a plug-and-play vibe.

  • WordPress if you’re cool with a bit more setup for deeper customization and scalable tracking (like adding forms or analytics later).

What’s your gut leaning toward? And what’s the challenge about—personal project, coding gig, something else? That’ll help me fine-tune the next steps for you!
